New Carpet and Furniture Being Installed in the Library

New Carpet and Furniture Being Installed in the Library

This summer, the Kraemer Family Library is getting new carpet and furniture in our 2nd floor collaboration space and computer commons. The new furniture will significantly improve the collaboration space by adding two noise dampening study pods, new ways to collaborate in the Library, and providing more comfortable seating for studying and relaxing between classes. You can find mockups of the new furniture and the redesigned collaboration space at the bottom of this announcement.

Construction begins Tuesday, July 16, and will continue through Friday, August 9th. During the construction project, you can expect extra noise and dust in the building as the contractors complete the carpet and furniture installation.

Additionally, the following Library areas/services will be affected by the construction:

  • The 2nd floor bathrooms will be unavailable until at least July 26.
    • The restrooms, all-gender restrooms, and lactation space on the 3rd floor will continue to be available.
  • The group study rooms located in EPC 226 through 231 will be unavailable until at least July 26.
  • The 2nd floor collaboration space will be offline until July 26.
  • The exercise bike and treadmill will be offline until August 9.
  • Some computer workstations on the 2nd floor will be offline until August 9.

These timelines are subject to change, and we will provide updates as necessary. We appreciate your patience during this project!
