On Thursday, September 5th, the library held a launch event for our newest collection: Zines! Zines are self-published mini-books that are made for passion, not profit. They frequently cover niche, outsider, and avant-garde subject matter. The library is collecting these works in order to diversify its holdings in multiple senses. 

This collection is on the first floor of the library near the Graphic Novels collection. Due to the nature of these items, they can only be used within the library and are not available for checkout by students. Faculty can checkout 3 collections for classroom instruction for 3 weeks. 

The library will be sponsoring the annual Pikes Peak Zine Fest (PPZF) this Fall where attendees can meet local zine makers and artists and peruse their latest works. This free event will be held in Berger Hall on Saturday, October 5th from 1:00 - 5:00 PM.
