Paid Opportunity for Students to Create Zines
The Kraemer Family Library is Building a Zine Collection and We Want You!
KFL is awarding $250 to 10 students with diverse backgrounds to create zines. We will print 50 copies of the zines which will be added to the library’s collection, distributed on campus and throughout Colorado Springs.
No prior zine-making experience is required, and the library will host a workshop about making zines in February. What your zine is about is entirely up to you.
Note: Zines will not be sold by the library once printed. (Zines are homemade publications driven by passion, not profit.)
Requirements
- Attend a zine-making workshop at Ladyfingers Letterpress in February 2024
- Submit your completed zine files for printing by April 2024
Compensation
- $250 honorarium
- 5 printed copies of your zine
- 1 copy of each zine created by other students in the cohort
Timeline
- December 8, 2023: Applications close
- December 15, 2023: Awardees selected
- February 16, 2024: Zine workshop
- April 5, 2024: Print files submitted
- May 2024: Zines printed
- October 2024: Distribute zines at Pikes Peak Zine Festival
