Are you interested in publishing your research in an academic journal but you're not sure how to start the process? The Kraemer Family Library is offering a workshop series for new faculty and graduate students who are interested in understanding the entire publishing process. Our four-part workshop series will address the life-cycle of scholarly publishing and open access, navigating the editorial and submission process, understanding copyright, and how to track your impact after you have published. 

 

The Wonderful World of Publishing 
Wednesday January 30, 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm, EPC 304c – register here 

This session will include information about the lifecycle of scholarly publishing, open access and why you should care, and how to fund your publication. 

 

The Editorial Process
Wednesday, February 13, 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm, EPC 304c – register here 

This session will include information about journal rankings and choosing the appropriate journal for your publication, writing queries and working with editors, and what to expect from the peer-review process. 

 

Know Your Copyright 
Wednesday March 20, 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm, EPC 304c – register here 

This session will discuss how copyright is secured, authors' rights, and how best to manage your copyright during the article or book publication process. 

 

Track Your Impact 
Wednesday, April 24, 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm, EPC 304c – register here  

This session will cover post-publishing tools for authors to track your impact and insight into the UCCS institutional repository.
